The Canadian Latin Heritage Association –CLHA-, a Mississauga based organization, has as its main objective the preservation of the heritage, language and folklore of Latin American countries and aims to integrate them into the Canadian Culture.

Colombian Independence Day is celebrated annually on the 20th July. The Independence Day celebration had something to offer for all tastes. An event with a great variety of musical genres, live artists, folkloric demonstrations with the rhythms of the different Colombian regions, in addition to enjoying delicious traditional Colombian food and much more. The event where Colombians and other communities, enjoyed the Colombian culture in a familiar and pleasant atmosphere, remembering their roots and traditions.

Isabel Cuellar has been honoured with the “Canada 150 Medal and Sesquicentennial Community Award” from the Government of Canada. On behalf of the Government, Hon. Peter Fonseca, Member of Parliament for Mississauga East Cooksville, bestowed the medal and award to Isabel Cuellar in recognition of her effort in "Making Canada a More multicultural Nation" and in recognition of her accomplishments in the community by promoting a diverse and inclusive Canada. Isabel Cuellar was one of the 25 recipients of this medal and award in the Mississauga East Cooksville region.
